To new member Mikhael Shachaf, we say welcome to our Beth Shalom “Family”. We hope you will enjoy a long and happy association with our community.

Mazeltov to Owen Hill and Jennifer on the safe arrival of their daughter Samantha Sofia in Atlanta. Also mazeltov to the proud grandparents Barbara and Len Hill, who will visit Owen and family this month.

Next month we welcome Rachel Rich-Dennyss’s nephew Rabbi Danny Rich and his partner Laura King-Lasserman, and also Rachel’s niece Naomi Rich. The family are travelling up north for some rest and relaxation together. Watch your February Teruah notices for the days to meet up with Rabbi Danny.

Special congratulations go to Judith Hunt’s neice Davina Vorchheimer who in her final year at King David School Melbourne has been presented with the UPJ ATID AWARD for outstanding achievement at King David School and her ongoing commitment to the ideals of Progressive Judaism.

Jack Wilton and Mor Karon are off to Israel on schnat for the year. We wish you both safe travels, great adventures and lots of fun.

Welcome home to Claire and Peter Bruell who have been on exotic travels to Cuba, Galapagos Islands (amazing, said Claire)Quito, Lima and Mexico City and not forgetting a trip to Melbourne.

Refuah shlema to Claire and Laurie Reynolds, we hope you are both making good progress. Also get well wishes to Elly Ribary who has had a spell in hospital.

Chris Shiller is very excited about her trip to Israel to attend the Beutel Seminar in Jerusalem – sounds like it will be a fabulous experience Chris – Enjoy!

Happy and safe travels to Alison and Paul Dyson as they visit countries in Europe. We trust the temperatures were nice and warm for Colleen and Sam Shafar’s visit to Taupo last month.

The wedding of Danielle Robinson (eldest daughter of David and Maureen) to Alex Feigin (eldest son of Monica and the late Robert) took place at Temple Beth Israel in Melbourne on Sunday 13 December 2009. Mazeltov to both families.
