Re: UPJ LECTIONARY
For the past decade, Rabbi Fred Morgan of Temple Beth Israel (Melbourne) has produced a Torah Reading Calendar (lectionary) for the Union for Progressive Judaism.
This lectionary is unique from both the Israeli and typical diaspora lectionaries used in Conservative and Orthodox communities, and recognises the way in which the Jewish calendar is observed in the majority of our congregations.
With thanks to the hard work of Ellen Frajman, we are pleased to announce that we have digitalised Rabbi Morgan’s lectionary and have created a downloadable calendar which includes Torah & Haftarah readings, with associated page numbers in the Plaut chumash and Mishkan T’fillah.
We have also included useful information about festive occasions and solemn observances and will over the coming month be updating the lectionary with .pdf attachments that might be useful for special readings . Please visit the following link to download the lectionary:
