The Israeli Defence Force has asked for black woollen beanies for the soldiers. Winter is approaching in Israel and the weather can be bitterly cold, especially at night. There is a need for 350,000 beanies!
This is a perfect opportunity for our community to support the soldiers.
The pattern is suitable for even the very basic knitters – such as myself – you will need 4mm needles, 8 ply plain black yarn, acrylic or wool/acrylic is best – the beanies need to be machine washable. If you would like to be a part of this project please email me at shiller@orcon.net.nz and I will send a copy of the pattern to you and there will also be copies in the foyer at shul. Let me know if you need wool, I will have some available to get people started.
