The Community Hub is a team that will provide dedicated and shared services to the Auckland Hebrew Congregation (AHC), Kadimah School, the Goldwater Trust Board (Preschool) and all their stakeholders – members, management, operating staff, students, parents and the wider community.
This role is the face of the Jewish Community Centre (JCC) due to ongoing contact with students, parents and teachers of Kadimah School and Preschool, AHC community members, Jewish Auckland members as well as contractors and visitors to JCC.
While the role has a number of duties listed below, student care takes priority over all other tasks.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Front of House – Visitor management for the JCC facility
- Handle and direct all incoming phone calls, clear emails and respond as required
- Coordinate car parking
- Manage Community Calendar – Book facilities and manage set-up of shared facilities e.g. boardroom, kitchen, hall etc. (share with Administrator)
- Liaise with and support Security staff including emergency duties (lockdown and fire)
- Liaise with teachers and staff
- Health and Safety responsibilities as defined by the Community Manager and Principal
- Set up, organise and prepare for all Board meetings
- Kadimah student care i.e. First aid and managing sick children, administer medications
- Prepare Kadimah News Notes
- AHC administration and bookkeeping (share with Administrator) as directed by the Community Manager
Knowledge and Skills
- More than 3 years reception experience in a school (must have) or not-for-profit organisation (desirable)
- Highly proficient with MS Office suite applications, Mailchimp and database management
- Website publishing experience and posting on social media
- Able to work in an environment with competing priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills. Displays a friendly and pleasant manner to children and adults alike
- Proactive, sensible and a team player
- Allied with the ethos of the Jewish community
Permanent Residency / Citizenship and a clean slate police vetting are required.

To allow the community to work through requirements for caretaking and cleaning on our new Jewish Community Centre.
To commence ASAP.
We are seeking a couple with cheerful, friendly ‘can-do’ attitudes, good practical/DIY skills, experience working with tools & equipment, who enjoy working in a child-friendly environment.
We will also consider a full time individual with the above-mentioned qualities.
In this role you will be tasked with grounds care and building maintenance, liaising with tradespeople, cleaners, keeping up to date with health and safety requirements around the school, ad-hoc (un)locking of buildings, maintaining a tidy site and general caretaking duties.
Knowledge and Skills
- More than 2 years current commercial cleaning experience
- Able to work in an environment with competing priorities
- Proactive, sensible and a team player
- Allied with the ethos of the Jewish community
